Do you know, that… ?
If you have a tin box with a lid, this can of course be done with many techniques.
One of them is to use the Convert to Sheet Metal operation, which I already wrote about. However, this time in the parameters it should be checked Keep object.
What does it do?
You can reuse the source body in subsequent conversion operations.
In the second step, I use the same object to select only Reverse thickness. If two plates are made from one solid, it is good to uncheck it during the second conversion Keep object, so that you do not have to delete the object separately.
In this case, the top plate – cover – requires a few more operations, including Edge flanges, trim (in two places) sketch and Closed corner.
Certainly, this approach is faster, allowing you to create two plates based on a common source object.
