Do you know, that… ?
Sometimes the sketch lacks relationships / dimensions that allow it to be fully defined (the sketch then turns black). Sometimes looking for missing relationships is difficult. Of course you can use the tool Define the sketch completely. Relations and dimensions can be internal and external.
For example, a rectangle with only two side dimensions A and B has only internal dimensions. If the rectangle had a relation Common to the beginning of the layout or two dimensions defining its position relative to the beginning of the layout – would be completely defined (black).
But this time he will show a different trick.
In the presented example, the sketch for a rotary feature was drawn like this, that its center line is not at the beginning of the coordinate system. Best, that the sketch is symmetrical.
Therefore, I transfer the sketch with the help of surgery Move items.
It is clear, that it should be moved by grabbing the end or beginning of the centerline and placing it at the beginning of the system. Even if you set the final position exactly, the sketch will be blue anyway (niedodefiniowany). Therefore, the missing relationship must be added manually.
Assuming however, that I want to place the sketch in any other position, how to check, whether he lacks an internal or external relationship? To proste.
Select any vertex and select Still. If the sketch turns black (under defined) it means, that only external relations are missing!
You can practice this with an example of a regular circle or rectangle.
