Why Knit Surfaces is a better choice?

Do you know, that… ?

In surface modeling, you can sometimes encounter a bug like this, that the surfaces could not be joined in the feature Mirror or Filling. Why is this happening? The answer is simple, there are micro-gaps, that prevent pieces of the surface from joining.

Just an operation Knit surfaces includes a bookmark Gap control allowing the surface to be sewn together.

Examples.

I make a mirror it would seem – symmetrical element. However, after checking the option Knit surfaces there is an error.

In such a situation Mirror you can do it after unchecking this option, however, you will get two disjoint surface bodies.

To stitch the surfaces, use the operation Knit surface and mark Gap control.

Another situation, which you may encounter is an analogous connection error in the operation Fill surface. Here, too, you should disable the option Merge results before approval.

Then use Knit surfaces with it on Gap control.

ATTENTION! remember, that only slight gaps (in the order of hundredths of a millimeter) the program is automatically able to patch. if Gap control It will not work, different techniques must be used to eliminate gaps, e.g. such as in this entry:
