Do you know, that… ?

One of the operations to simplify assemblies, but also to delete some information, is Defeature. You will find the command in the menu Tools.

The operation enables the use of two methods – Simplify the geometry and Silhouette . The former is used to specify components to be removed or simplified more precisely.

As you go through the next steps, you decide, what and how do you want to delete. Of course, the process can be repeated many times until the desired results are obtained.

The result is a highly simplified file, which you can save as a new document, and even publish to 3D ContentCentral.

Another method Silhouette for use in larger assemblies, it allows to build assemblies with geometry of a selected shape. This method in addition to the known purpose, it can also be useful for packaging design.
