I come across the question many times, or in SOLIDWORKS weldments it is possible to set a fixed length of the members.

Unfortunately, there is no such option, you can split the beams manually by splitting the skeleton sketch or ready-made objects.

But you can use the Structure System!

weldments can be combined with A system of structures, both tools use the same profile libraries. So wanting to divide the beam into segments of a certain length, I am using the Structure System for this beam.

Enable the option for a selected beam Split members and select the appropriate split type. You can divide into a selected number of elements or use a fixed length.

As a result of the division, two long beams were created (selected 2m) and a short segment with the remaining length.
