CNC machine operators or people exporting patterns for plotters, they often ask for a single outline font.

What is this?

Well, each letter of the text consists of a contour around it, so that the inscription can be cut or extruded in SOLIDWORKS. Even very thin fonts that look like handwriting also have contours around them.

The problem then arises, if wanting to cut the inscription (e.g. in a tin) we don't want to run the tool around. We just want to guide the tool along a single path, where the thickness of the letter is the diameter of the cutter.

In this case, you can use a special font OLF SimpleSansOC. Of course, you can also download other CNC fonts from the Internet, but it is listed as standard.
