Create a daylight symbol with a block

Do you know, that… ?

There is no designation type for the projection in a standard SOLIDWORKS title block (American vs. European).

Therefore I will show, how to do block with such designation. This is one of the possible solutions, because you can also prepare a symbol in ASCII code, but I will write about this solution another time.

  1. Make a model of the truncated cone and create a drawing. You can skip this and the next step and draw the layout right away in the block. There is no designation type for the projection in a standard SOLIDWORKS title block
  2. Convert views to block. This should be done twice or after converting the first view into a block, add the missing elements to its edition.

3. Unfortunately, after being converted to a block, the sketch segments changed color etc.. You have to turn on the bar format lines and change color, line thickness, line style as desired.

If you want to exclude points at the ends or joints of lines – change it in System Options > Drawings.

American version (third angle) is ready. If you want to create a European version (first angle) edit block, change layout and save with a new name.
