Do you know, that… ?

Imagine an assembly consisting of many components. It may be a toy, household appliance or similar.

Designing the packaging, e.g. blisters, we outline the shape in the maximum height. This can of course be done in many ways, however, I want to introduce a new tool, which can also be useful for this.

This tool is included in a group Convert items and is called Silhouette elements.

What is important, only available in assemblies after prior turning on the sketch.

Generally the rule is similar to this Intersection curve, which intersects the indicated plane (or some other flat reference) a solid or surface body, creating a sketch at the intersection. Silhouette elements they also work like that, except in assembly i intersect the components. I find the program this way “maximum cross-section” creating a sketch.
