Sometimes, after installing SOLIDWORKS, you may not see a folder on the right side Design library. This is a very important folder in my opinion, because there are a lot of useful things there.

In such a situation?

This folder should be added. Nevertheless, there is a problem. Well, the folder is in the directory ProgramData, which is invisible by default.

 

That's why you should first show hidden folders, files and drives in folder options.

ATTENTION! This may require a system administrator password!

Only now you can add the missing folder in two ways:

1. By adding the file location and pointing to another ProgramData > SOLIDWORKS > Design library

2. In the program options, specifically in File Locations > design Library.

note, that in the catalog C:\ProgramDataSOLIDWORKSSOLIDWORKS 20xx there are many important files.

I will add, that there is actually a third method of adding this location, you just need to know the address C:\ProgramDataSOLIDWORKSSOLIDWORKS 2024design library and paste it when adding a location in the Windows Explorer window.

You may also need to enter your administrator password here – this is an issue completely outside SOLIDWORKS.
