There are many design tools in SOLIDWORKS. One of them is library operations Design Library.
These types of operations are provided with the program, however, the great advantage is the ability to perform such operations on your own. They have a lot of uses, everywhere there, where there is repeatability. In my opinion, they are especially useful in the furniture industry.
After preparing the operation, you just need to drag it onto a face in the model and indicate the references.
The trick is to prepare the operation in this way, that there are as few references to the indication as possible, but at the same time to be able to unambiguously position the operation in any 3D system.
Operations also support configurations – thus you can create many variants of an operation.
