Why sometimes deformation is better than lofting?

Do you know, that… ?

SOLIDWORKS is such a tool, that I usually give many options for choosing how to make a 3D model. However, sometimes it is better to use a specific operation, because the effect will be better than in other cases.

I present the handle as an example.

If you extrude the surface according to the border or along the profiles immediately – the resulting waves will be extended to the entire object.

Therefore, it is better to create a smooth surface and additionally “wave” a separate operation. It will work best Deformation with option Curve-curve, where I indicate the edge of the surface and the prepared sketch.

As a result, the resulting waviness is in a small section and does not extend to the entire object.
