Sometimes in SOLIDWORKS you only need to add a mate temporarily to reposition a component.
When this situation may occur?

Then add the appropriate constraints (here in parallel) i w options check before confirming Use for position setting only. The program inserts the constraint and deletes it immediately, so after validation, do not move the aligned component anymore.
