One of the many tools available in drawings is Auxiliary view. The command creates a view in relation to the model edge. For example in the following situation. Then the model can be fully dimensioned, which would not be possible on a different projection.
But did you know, that you can insert such a view referring to any sketch line. remember, that the line must belong to the view, from which the auxiliary view is created.
